Ingredients:
- 2 cups besan (gram flour)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons nuts (almonds, cashews or pistachios), chopped [optional]
Instructions:
1.Roast the Besan:
- In a pan, heat ghee on low flame.
- Add flat beans (also know as chickpeas or besan) and roast, constant stirring at this point, until it bell beautiful brown and gives it a nutty aroma. This may take 10-15 minutes.
2.Cool the Mixture:
- Off heat and let cool a little (but not all the way).
3.Add Sugar & Flavor:
- Add in icing sugar and cardamom powder. Stir well.
4.Shape the Ladoos:
- After warming up the mixture (not too hot), take a little of the mixture in your hands and form it into round ladoos.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if using.
5.Let Them Set:
- Once the ladoos are formed, let them cool completely, and store in an airtight container.
Storage:
- Keeps well at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
